1972 Arctic Cat EXT 340, Serial Number: 2108006. This 1972 Arctic Cat EXT 340 racing snowmobile is unrestored and reported to be in generally original condition. There were 1,000 examples of this model produced according to reported production records. This 1972 EXT 340 is powered by a twin-cylinder free-air 339cc Kawasaki T1A340R A engine. The engine is equipped with dual Mikuni carburetors with a small steel airbox. The original twin tuned exhaust system appears to be in place along with the exhaust "snuffer" mufflers. The primary clutch is an Arctic Cat round bushing model. The snowmobile is equipped with the correct Kelsey Hayes hydraulic brake, and the brake lever moves freely. This EXT 340 is equipped with an optional light kit. The headlight is in place. One tail lamp lens is broken. The tunnel appears to be straight and there is no cleat damage under the seat. The fiberglass belly pan shows some scuffs but no damage. The hood has no damage but does show some wear and spider cracking in spots. There are some bubbles in the original hood graphics. The windshield appears to be original. The sled is equipped with the correct EXT skis and mono leaf ski springs. The track and suspension are in very good condition. There are some worn Cat Claws in the cleats. The original track drive sprockets appear to have been replaced with sprockets made with modern black material. The original seat is in excellent condition. The 6.5-gallon "lightning bolt" fuel tank has brilliant chrome with no apparent flaws and is free of corrosion inside. The correct black handlebar pad is in place. The dash is equipped with a 100 mph speedometer/odometer showing 10 miles, a 10,000 RPM tachometer and two temperature gauges, all period-correct and in good condition. The kill switch button is in place but the lanyard is missing. There is a multi-position switch for ignition/lights. The rear snow flap has green EXT lettering. This snowmobile has been in covered storage for several seasons and will need routine maintenance. The registration card is not available.
